This is why we have elected to introduce an integrated management system focused on sustainable growth and based on an overall policy of "Quality, Environment and Health & Safety".

As part of this overall policy, we undertake to :

• monitor compliance with statutory and administrative obligations and the standards that apply to our business activities, products and services, as well as the professional and local commitments to which we have subscribed;
• listen to, anticipate, understand and meet the reasonable demands of our customers, staff and other parties affected by our business in a continuous and sustainable manner;
• define and periodically revise our goals and targets in line with our policy and the expectations of our stakeholders, while at the same time pursuing the achievement of our business objectives;
• set out the missions, responsibilities and powers of each person through the Holcim Code of Conduct and thorough job descriptions;
• make all of our staff aware of the importance of conducting themselves properly as they carry out their work, giving them appropriate training and supervision so that we have teams equipped with the correct skills, commitment and sense of responsibility;
• promote the idea of having our concerns relating to quality, the environment, health and safety taken into account by our suppliers and service-providers;
• communicate transparently with our stakeholders and work closely with them to advance together;
• measure our performance in the three areas of our overall policy and improve those areas on an ongoing basis.

The task of putting this policy into effect has been entrusted to the management committees at Holcim and Cement Operations, which keep us informed regularly. Target guidelines will be set annually and passed on through the various trades, professions and units, accompanied by individual targets.
Through the tools and procedures that have been put in place, we expect each and every member of staff to be committed to making an ongoing contribution to complying with our policy.
We will make sure that the human, material and financial resources required to achieve the objectives set are made available.
The understanding and implementation of this policy and its content at every level of the company will be verified from time to time. This will enable us to adjust to the reality of the moment.
This overall policy, which will contribute to our mission being accomplished, has been made known to the entire workforce at Holcim, as well as to our customers, suppliers and service-providers. Details and the wording of the policy is available to government departments and the public.
